EFT – Emotional Freedom Techniques

EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is a quantum leap forward in resolving difficult or painful emotions or events. This incredible technique works on any fear, phobia or trauma, even Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Even more fabulous, you don’t have to re-live and dissect each event in order to get relief. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve had it, how you got it, how severe it is, or what you’ve tried to get rid of it, EFT works!

EFT was developed by Gary Craig, and is based on the acupuncture system, but there are no needles, just a very light tapping on certain points. Some people think it’s pretty “far out” and “weird” but the success rate is over 95% and for me, the bottom line for any treatment is pretty simple, DOES IT WORK?

With EFT, the answer is a resounding YES! Two particular clients  had suffered for 30+ years each, with nightmares two to three times/week. They could no longer remember what life was like without nightmares. In less than three hours, all was done, and in the seven years since, neither client has had a single nightmare! Kay has helped people from all walks of life, from accident victims having trouble driving again, to people with claustrophobia, fear of needles, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Basically, this sneaky little emotional component is the 1% of your often literal, completely subconscious mind, that “hijacks” the rest of your life in ways that can be very difficult to see. You think, “But I KNOW better….” Well, yes, you do. But, WE AREN’T DEALING WITH LOGIC! If we were, it wouldn’t be an issue. We are dealing with emotions, in all their illogical, too literal, out of context glory. And that tiny illogical 1%, that you know isn’t accurate or reasonable, is hijacking and sabotaging your life. EFT takes it out! I have had traumas 20 years old resolved in as little as 15 minutes.

EFT for Medical Issues

Science has now proven that when we are tense, pain signals travel faster. Because EFT removes the stress and anxiety, it helps reduce the pain. The underlying condition is still there, and should still be treated medically, but you can significantly reduce the suffering. Chronic pain patients who use EFT report a significant reduction in their daily pain load, and a greater ability to get necessary daily tasks done.

So, isn’t that like Psychology?

EFT and Psychology are not the same. Psychology is the Art and Science of using various strategies and tactics to change your relationships in the world. That includes your relationship to yourself. What most often gets in the way of putting these great ideas into practice is FEAR.  My job is to take away the fear. This puts YOU back in the driver’s seat. I am not a medical doctor or psychologist and I don’t want to be. There are many widely varying ideas about what methods and types of psychology work best under what circumstances and for whom. Once of the most important aspects getting good therapy is choosing a therapist you have a rapport or sense of connection with. Psychology Today has an excellent “therapist finder” on their website.

Most basic issues can be resolved in about 60-90 minutes.
